It's almost here!

Hello all, it is Monday night and I am beyond excited about my departure on Friday!!! Today was the final meeting with my teacher and the other students I am traveling with. We are all very excited and have most everything planned out in our itinerary. The first Monday we are in Japan is a National Holiday Umi no Hi, or Ocean Day, is a whole day of celebrating the Ocean and it's importance to Japan and our planet. On this day aquariums are either free, or discounted. It is also a popular day to throw a beach party. This will be perfect, because the weather is expected to be so hot and humid, that we will all need a dip in the ocean! 

Today I bought my host family a gift for my arrival. Since chocolate is more expensive and harder to come by there, I stopped by the Sees candy store in the mall and created a hand picked variety box for the Wife of the house. I have yet to buy the Husband and their 22 year old daughter a gift from the states. I have recently to contact the family through e-mail to ask about their hobbies and interests, but I have gotten no response yet.  Hopefully by Friday I will get some clue on what to buy them! Staying with a family with a 22 year old daughter is lucky for me, hopefully she is a good tour guide!! I am excited to find out the kinds of things we have in common.
